How to properly hang a quilt
A quilt sewn by hand is an interesting work and a unique wall decoration that is impregnated the personality that created it. Each tissue section is carefully selected, hand cut and sewn into place to form a beautiful cover or footwall higher. It is important to hang the finished piece, not only to highlight the design of the best possible way, but also to prevent become damaged. Consider the following steps before hanging a new quilt that was sewn or years. Once you've hung the quilt, it will be impressive future for many years to come.
The location is important
It is important to choose a good location before the quilt suspended. Avoid areas that receive direct sunlight or even potentially damaging artificial light. Same only a few inches of it, the bulbs can get very hot and damage the equipment. In addition, do not hang a quilt over a heat source or in a area with high humidity. In general, if the temperature and humidity level is at ease, it is most likely a ideal position to hang fabric products.
Temperature, sunlight, and moisture are not the only conditions requiring constant review. If small children are present, do not hang a quilt or tapestry hand. Small hands can cause tissue and soil of permanent staining. Hang it out of reach of children and animals, and select a location desirable to keep in top condition and research as although the day it was completed.
Decide on a frame or a simpler method
Unlike a pair of decorative candles wall sconces that need a simple nail or screw to successfully mounted on the wall, hanging a quilt takes more into consideration and planning.
One of the best ways to hang a quilt involves the development of the finished part. Working with a career coach, and insist on archival foam core is covered with a cloth backing. The coach will actually be sewing the fabric on the edge and finish the job with a framework attractive wood. The seams will not be visible when you hang framed work of art, and it will search as beautiful as ever. But not the least expensive to display heavy fabric, this is, again, one of the best ways. Safe and attractive methods exist, and they can be undertaken without the assistance expert.
Consider sewing a shirt sustainable rear edge of the quilt, then display it on a rod. To keep the heavy fabric stable a sleeve can also be sewn to the opposite end, and a rod can be used to attach the bottom. The sleeves are not visible forward, and if sewn right, it will look as beautiful as coaching.
Quilts can also be suspended using Velcro. Attach the rough side of Velcro loop to the upper and lower back of the quilt. Use a standard, level, and a pencil to create a horizontal line on the wall. Attach the soft side of Velcro on the side of the line and the quilt to make eye contact when they are posted. Attach a separate Velcro at the bottom of the quilt, and follow the same method of application. Take your time and carefully fasten the Velcro and the quilt hangs up and look outstanding.
Choose Stem attractive for Hanging
If you choose a sleeve to hang the quilt with, it will be necessary to choose one or two curtain rods. Consider the style the quilt when selecting a rod to hold it. A rod with tips elegantly designed is perfect for hanging a quilt style. A suspension bar with wrought iron fittings is ideal for old or old fashioned quilts. The options for curtain rods are endless, and the rod style you choose depends greatly on the look you want to achieve.
Mounting hardware
After selecting curtain rods, the next step is the installation of equipment. Locate a wall stud before getting the first installment, and use pins to secure another. Also, mark the locations for the slices with a pencil, tape measure and a level. This will ensure the quilt hangs straight and with the right amount of space between parentheses. Follow the same process when fixing bracket before preparing to hang the quilt.
Hanging Tips
If you decided to hang the quilt with curtain rods, once all the supports are in place, fix the quilt on a clean surface, like a bed or table, and carefully thread the rod high in the sleeve. With a little help from a pair of extra hands, blocking of the quilt. It is easy to move the second rod through the sleeve bottom and hang on hooks.
Even if a quilt looks beautiful when displayed on a bed, the quilt hanging on the wall allows the design to be easily visible. Focusing on a quilt bare wall, regardless of the method of hanging is a great way to enjoy the beauty of design and talent that has been done a finely sewn art.
